Este trabalho utilizou-se de revisão bibliográfica, com o objetivo de entender a constipação intestinal, não só do ponto de vista da Medicina Ocidental (MO), mas principalmente através da Medicina Tradicional Chinesa (MTC), através de tratamento complementar denominado Acupuntura. Desta forma, o trabalho foi capaz de mostrar que os resultados da Acupuntura são eficazes em tal patologia e seus efeitos agem no indivíduo como um todo.

The This work we used the literature review, with the aim of understanding the constipation, not only from the viewpoint of Western medicine, but mainly through the Traditional Chinese Medicine through alternative treatment called Acupuncture. Thus, the study was able to show that the results of acupuncture are effective in such act pathology and its effects on the individual as a whole.
