Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o tratamento de pontos gatilho através do agulhamento seco na síndrome da dor miofascial dos músculos da mastigação (masseter e temporal). Observamos que existem muitos tratamentos invasivos utilizando injeções com soluções e agulhamento seco,adjuvantes a estes a termoterapia, estimulação elétrica, massagens e exercícios podem estar associados para alívio da dor. Concluímos que a agulha rompe mecanicamente o nódulo das fibras musculares desativando o ponto gatilho.

This paper aimed to evaluate the treatment of trigger points by dry needling in myofascial pain syndrome of the masticate muscles (masseter and temporal). We note that there are many invasive treatments using solutions with injections and dry needling, adjuvant to these treatments, thermotherapy, electrical stimulation, massage and exercises may be associated with pain relief. We conclude that the needle mechanically breaks the muscle fibers lump deactivating the trigger point.
