Em próteses sobre implantes, a retenção se faz por meio de parafusos ou cimentos e a escolha entre uma e outra técnica, exerce uma grande influência no plano de tratamento. Entretanto, existem várias dúvidas por parte dos profissionais em decidir pela escolha dos sistemas de conexão e o tipo de prótese a ser executada. O objetivo desse trabalho foi fazer uma revisão de literatura tecendo comparações entre os dois tipos de prótese sobre implantes cimentada e parafusada, com ênfase nas vantagens e desvantagens, restrições e indicações. Diante da literatura analisada pode-se concluir que a escolha entre as próteses implanto-surportada cimentada e parafusada é de acordo com a escolha do profissional e com a sua experiência, visto que não há um consenso na literatura quanto a melhor indicação. As vantagens e desvantagens devem ser analisadas para cada caso e explicadas ao paciente, a fim da melhor decisão clínica.

In prosthetic implants, retention is by means of screws or cements and the choice between one and the other technique, exerts a great influence on the treatment plan. However, there are several questions from professionals in deciding the choice of connection systems and the type of prosthesis to be executed. The aim of this study was to review the literature weaving comparisons between the two types of implants cemented prosthesis rises and bolted, with emphasis on the advantages and disadvantages, indications and restrictions. Given the literature review it can be concluded that the choice between the implant-cemented and screwed supported is in accordance with the professional's choice and with his experience, since there is no consensus in the literature as the best indication. The advantages and disadvantages should be analyzed for each case and explained to the patient, to the best clinical decision.
