The aim of this study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of translucent glass fiber posts (White Post/ FGM) cemented with dual-cure resin cement associated with a conventional dual-cure three-step adhesive system (RelyX ARC/ 3M ESPE + Scotchbond Multi-purpose/ 3M ESPE= ARC) or with resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RelyX Luting 2/ 3M ESPE= LUT) at different intraradicular depths, and evaluate the failure type that occurred. Twenty eight human pre-molar roots were used, which received intraradicular preparation for cementation of translucent glass fiber post, which was prepared with silane (Prosil/ FGM). The roots were separated into two groups (n= 14) to receive post cementation with the different luting agents (ARC or LUT) according to respective manufacturer's instructions. After 24 hours the roots were cut radially in a metallographic cutter using a double-faced diamond disc, at three different depths to obtain serial cuts approximately 1 mm thick, corresponding to the cervical, middle and apical third of the roots. For the push-out test a universal test machine (EMIC) was used at a speed of 0.5 mm/min. Analysis of Variance for repeated measures revealed no significant effect for the interaction among the factors under study (p= 0,356). Difference was observed between the resin cements (p= 0,007), with significantly higher bond strength values being obtained for ARC. For both cements there was no difference in resistance to extrusion in the different root thirds (p= 0,905). For ARC, the majority failure were totally cohesive, and in the apical third there were a higher number of cohesive fractures in dentin when compared with the cervical and middle thirds, however, without statistical significance. For LUT in all thirds, the fractures were cohesive in cement. It could be concluded that, when compared with the resin-modified glass ionomer cement RelyX Luting 2, dual-cure resin cement RelyX ARC associated with the conventional dual-cure three-step adhesive system Scotchbond Multi-purpose showed the highest bond strength values in all intraradicular depths, with predominance of the totally cohesive type of fracture. So, it can be indicated for cementation of translucent glass fiber posts in intraradicular dentin.
